Night walking can, does and has meant many things
– Getting caught out late on the hills, hurrying back down unfamiliar paths, head torches seeking clues as to the best route. Managing the jeopardy of the situation, ruefully acknowledging that earlier decision making could have been better – maybe that last peak could have waited for another time ……..
– Work and family commitments requiring an innovative approach to walking and talking with friends. Evening starts, familiar routes, the enjoyment of a black, white and grey world, with an occasional illumination of moonlight magic.
– This small group walk was a midsummer expedition from dusk to dawn, from sunset to sunrise along cliffs, coves and bays, from Porth Colmon to Mynydd Mawr – to the very end of the Llyn Peninsula. It was progressed at pace, punctuated by short stops to re-fuel and take in the sheer brilliance of it all. An epic experience culminating in sunrise bacon butties outside the old coastguard station.

This soundtrack to the walk was created and crafted by Mates Music at the Hunter Mouse and Red Beck Studios.
Thanks to John Patitucci for the inspiration of that bass line.
Lyrics:
Blue bells, purpling in the sunshine
Blue Bell, haze.
For whom bells, tolling in the evening
Sunset, fade.
Moonlight, sliding ‘cross the sea scape
Once bright, gone.
Glow worms, blinking in the lightless
Lamp like, glow.
Takes my breath away from me
Takes my breath away
Too good to say
How felt on the way
‘Tween night and day.
Just too good to say.
First light, ouzing on the earth’s rim
First sight of rays
Sunrise, bursting ‘tween the mountains
Surprise, day!
