It just keeps getting more and more bizarre (and dangerous) this geopolitical stuff .

I have watched numerous interviews of Professor Jeffrey Sachs by Professor Glenn Diesen over the last few years, always well informed and communicating a strong left of centre liberal critique of the Collective West’s attempts to bolster a crumbling US global hegemony. As Professor Diesen has become increasingly baffled, bewildered and disheartened, so Professor Sachs has become more and more exasperated, although always retaining some optimism that things could be done differently – and better.

This 37 minute youtube video allows Jeffrey to give full vent to his frustration, with a brutal characterisation of the nature of the US, it’s catastrophic impact on the rest of the world and Europe’s (including the UK) acquiescence (some might say appeasement!!).

I think his suggestions for a better way forward need a bit of work, he is starting from a clear philosophical idealist position, but his ability to easily communicate and contextualise the key issues makes this, in my opinion, a good watch / listen.
